#ACTIVELAB at Pitti Bimbo 87: the show and the coolest brands in activewear
Looking for innovative brands to wear your child every day, without going unnoticed but just staying child? #ACTIVELAB is the section of Pitti Bimbo that collects the brands that do research and that maintain a footprint in streetwear and sportswear.
After the success of the launch in January, #ACTIVELAB grew up for Pitti Bimbo 87. At Cavaniglia Studio – an area expressly dedicated inside of the Cavaniglia Pavilion – #ACTIVELAB welcomes us in a bold and funny layout presenting (with DJ-set) a selection of international brands that do research in sportswear, urbanwear and activewear. Take note of these names: Bangbang Copenhagen, Barn of monkeys, CARLIJNQ, Cribstar, Gardner and the gang, Gro, Iglo + Indi, it’s in my Jeans, Jooseph’s, Kids and the gang, Kinderkind, Kukukid, Loud apparel, MaisonͶoée kids, Mousse Kids, Oji, Sproet & Sprout, Tiba + Marl, Two in a Castle.
#ACTIVELAB at Pitti Bimbo 87: the fashion show
At the P.O.P. Arena, more than a fashion show, a real performance that has staged a selection of #ACTIVELAB brands: Bangbang Copenhagen, Barn of monkeys, Carlijnq, Gardner and the gang, Jooseph’s, Kids and the gang, Kinderkind, Loud apparel, Oji.

The #ACTIVELAB brands at Pitti Bimbo 87
Bangbang Copenhagen–“Playing is serious business” this is the claim of the Danish brand founded in 2008 by Louise Lundholm and Mia Resager, with the idea of combining their design experience with a funny, fashion-related look for children. A collection of streetwear, where sartorial silhouettes indulge dynamism.
Barn of monkeys – with solid social and cultural values, the Portuguese brand presents a collection of garments dedicated to the segment 2 -16 years, durable and of quality. A production made in Portugal, with 100% organic cotton and GOTS and SMETA certifications.
CarlijnQ – Soft and comfortable materials, playful prints and unisex styles characterize the creations of this lifestyle brand based in Holland. The line is entirely produced in a sustainable way and in Europe. A mini Home collection has also been created from the clothing collection.
Cribstar The collection uses materials tested in all parts of the chain of production. The objective is to make clothes suitable for the delicate skin of children and without chemical agents. Even the seams are handcrafted in Poland by a small family-run business.
Gardner and the Gang ©-founded by Kristin Nystrom, Swedish based in Singapore, the brand gives life to ultra fashion collections. A wardrobe inspired by the tastes of mom and dad, without forgetting the needs of movement of the little ones. Printed organic cotton with serigraphs starting from original designs.
Gro – The slogan of the season is “inner and outer exploration made with courage, curiosity and cunning!”. The collection wants to communicate the sense of belonging to nature, to the parallel worlds and to the starry sky.
Iglo + Indi-a fresh collection dedicated children 0-11 years old. Organic cotton dresses, T-shirts and check jerseys with pop prints that bring back cherries, lips and eyes, but also luxurious garments for ceremony made of high quality fabrics.
It’s in My Jeans – SS19 collection interprets the right mix of Streetwear and Contemporary denim with a focus on high-rate creative details such as embroidery and floral decorations. A proposal of impact that is animated by chromatic lighting: red, white and light pink.
Jooseph’s – A unique design with a recognizable style, great attention to comfort and certified quality materials. With these values, the brand develops its collections with innovative heart and playfully urban attitude.
Kids and the gang SS19 collection focuses on beachwear: swimsuits and bikinis with macro animalier prints and butterflies, 3d flowers, ruffles, evening hoods and a reminder to the 1970s.
Kinderkind – The brand’s DNA is rooted in the feeling of sweetness: between brother and sister and between parents and children but also among friends. With the aim of conveying this ideal through fashion, a collection attentive to quality but also to the affordable price.
Kukukid – from Poland, the brand promotes production and local manufacturing tradition. Kukukid calls himself disobedient, just like the children. Graphic prints and decorations embellish hoodies, clothes and irreverent style leggings.
Loud Apparel – Founded in London by Serena Di Scalzo and by Sepehr Nosrati, the brand expresses a creative mix between Brit style and minimalist design. A childrenswear line (6 months-14 years) fwith cutting-edge style and very attentive to comfort.
MAISONͶOÉE KIDS – A collection capable of transmitting an extraordinary lightness and a funny but refined approach. Dedicated to children with a cool and independent style.
Mousse Kids – SS 19 collection is an explosion of colour and funny and refined fantasies ranging from beachwear to streetwear. Within the line, the brand proposes a mini-me collection with a glam attitude.
Oji – Gritty street declination for a collection of sweatshirts, t-shirts, trousers and small accessories: the claims are gritty and minimal design. The logo, the imprint of a canine paw, is dedicated to Oji, the loyal friend of the founders.
Sproet & Sprout – A summer collection that evokes the wonders of the Japanese sea. Hand-drawn motifs narrate an ocean rich in animals and colors. The fine details of the composition leave room for the imperfect beauty of the hand-made.
Tiba + Marl – they are called Black Elwood Backpack and Raf Holdall and are iconic models of a range of bags with a versatile and updated approach. Innovative proposals for a unisex changing bag that turns into a work bag or a gym.
Two in a castle-natural materials such as organic ultrasoft cotton perfect for the skin of the youngest are the basis of a collection that looks at the trends of contemporary design without distorting the enchantment of childhood.
