Brasserie Thomieux: a romantic dinner (with kids) in Paris

Nulle table ne peut remplacer le partage d’un repas simple orné d’une touche d’amour et d’amitié. (No table can replace sharing a simple meal with a touch of love and friendship)

If you have walked on the beautiful Esplanade des Invalides and you want to stop for lunch or dinner, if you want to reach a Rue (Saint-Dominique, to be exact) from which take a nice picture of the Eiffel Tower, if you want to enjoy a refined meal in an elegant and romantic place, in addition to being one of the best local Parisian restaurants, just mark on your travel carnet Brasserie Thomieux.

Brasserie Thomieux has an ancient history: its style in Belle epoque with red furnishings and many golden mirrors resemble the origins of this brasserie, in 1923, also frequented by famous actresses and important people!
It is a cuddle, a room that deserves your cute dress and a make-up from the evening, but that does not disdain the presence of children, guests always listened to and satisfied, even in their requests off the menu.
Menu is not very long and varies seasonally (just consult the swebsite of Brasserie Thomieux to take a look at the dishes proposed): a few dishes well thought and varied in taste and flavor so as to please every palate. The creations of the star chef Sylvestre Wahid enhance raw materials, excellent, without covering flavours.
Sylvestre Wahid is a French chef who, in addition to Brasserie Thoumieux, owns the homonymous gourmet restaurant Sylvestre Wahid (two Michelin stars), also located at 79 Rue Saint Dominique in Paris. The location also includes a boutique hotel, precisely Hotel Thoumieux.

Our selection a la carte begun with three starters to be divided and taste, in conviviality, followed by three main dishes, accompanied by an excellent wine – strictly French – and finished with the inevitable dessert. French classics, such as Gillardeau oysters and foie gras, for us and for Sissi a delicate guacamole and a starter with tomatoes.
For the main dishes, Sissi’s salmon is presented on a bed of fresh spinach in a delicious butter sauce. As a side dish they added a delicious mash as Sissi said (who has eaten mine too!). For us adults a beef tartare and a green pepper steak.
Desserts? Hard to resist temptation! Here’s a tiramisu, a vanilla ice cream and a chocolate dessert with matcha tea sauce…
Beyond the delicious dishes, created by chef Sylvestre, what makes Brasserie Thomieux unique and special is its atmosphere. Elegant but not too formal, with an impeccable attention by the staff but never too prim.
I think more than every word this photo sums up perfectly as we felt that evening at dinner by Brasserie Thomieux: a happy family. Very happy.
