Pitti Bimbo celebrates its 90th edition: SHOW YOUR FLAGS!

It’s all about flags at Pitti Bimbo: a current theme, which waving connects fashion, fluttering fabrics, to the flags of the many countries present in Florence in the most important fair of the childrenswear universe. An increasingly global universe, which from the wardrobe has expanded and now touch lifestyle, in a world that, starting from the child, manages to involve the whole family.

From 16 to 18 January in Florence at the Fortezza da Basso the concept of the flag will lose its two-dimensionality and will turn into a scenic set designed by set designer Alessandro Moradei, with the art direction of Angelo Figus.

The fashion shows and special events

The calendar is full of fashion shows, initiatives, presentations, events and cocktail parties: Pitti Bimbo is browsing, discovering and keeping up to date.

United Colors of Benetton debuts at Pitti Bimbo with “65 Benetton Street”: at the Lorenese Theatre the world of kids created by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, for the first parade of United Colors of Benetton in Pitti Bimbo.

The fashion shows by Pitti Immagine present a selection of sophisticated and exclusive collections from the Apartment section, and from the innovative, original and experimental brands staged at KidzFIZZ.

Children’s Fashion from Spain brings Spanish brands Abel & Lula, Boboli, Mayoral and Tuc Tuc to the catwalk.

Petit Bateau, the historic French maison for children and Treedom, the web platform for remote planting of trees, will present an environmental and social sustainability initiative: an exclusive organic cotton birth kit with which it will be purchased including the planting of a tree species as part of Treedom’s agroforestry projects.

Another event not to be missed at Pitti Bimbo 90: Monnalisa, a 50-year leader in premium children’s clothing, will present the new collection with a special show on Thursday, January 16, at 7 p.m. at Leopolda Station.

The classic pavilions of PITTI BIMBO are home to super brands

On the ground and lower floors of the Central Pavilion a high concentration of collections signed by designers and brands for adult, along with ‘icon’ brands of the child world. SPORT GENERATION: “active” brands

At the Cavaniglia Pavilion, the big sportswear brands come together activewear. Sport Generation is the section that delves into the theme leisure clothing, with international brands make adults dream too. Among the names of this edition: Bikkembergs, Blauer, Canadiens, Ciesse Piumini, Emu Australia, Freedomday, Invicta, Jog Dog, Le Temps des Cerises, Melissa, Molo, Monta Juniors, Naturino, North Sails, Retour Denim De Luxe, Think Pink, Tommy Hilfiger, Woolrich Kid.

SUPERSTREET: 100% urban

SuperStreet is the section that Pitti Bimbo tells the universe of jeans and the street inclination junior and teen clothing. A colorful and dynamic world graphics and irony on outfits designed for children free to play. Among the main brands of this edition: Add Junior, Ai Riders, Bomboogie Kids, Eleven Paris, Gaudi, Guess Kids, Relish.

THE KID’S LAB! and KidzFIZZ

Building on the success of last year’s edition, The Kid’s Lab! confirms the headquarters of creativity and the best global creative scouting. At the Top Floor of the Central Pavilion, an incredible laboratory of ideas, inspirations and trends dedicated to the most attentive buyers and the constant search for novelty, and also exhibitions, presentations and many ideas to learn more.

KidzFIZZ brings together the most innovative, experimental, unusual, courageous, open to new brands and capable of surprising. Among the names of this edition: Caffé d’Orzo, Christina Rohde, Crescendo Apparel, Dear Sophie, Gayalab, Holmm., Mipounet, Miss L.Ray, Natasha Zinko X Duo, Sun of Sol, Tundem, Veja.

Small is beautiful: THE NEST

THE NEST encompasses micro realities that deserve to grow, selected from the Berlin store/concept lab Little Pop Up. Among the names in the spotlight at this edition: Atelier Parsmei, Jellymade, Mimookids, Mimù, Minì&Made, Naoia, Tiny Tots Barcelona, Weekend House Kids, Wool in Love, Yay.

ECOETHIC: where a green heart beats

The section with a truly green heart, attentive to materials, ethical production, sustainability. A core enriched by the exhibition on natural fibers, from lotus flower to eucalyptus flower, curated by Angelo Figus. A series of flags will offer a series of sustainable fabrics as a creative cue. Among the brands featured in this edition: Baby&Taylor, Cora Happywear, Eshvikids, Faire Child, Filobio, Jackalo, Kidiwi Handmade, Kidolphin, Kidsbury, Maison Tadaboum, Mini-La-Mode, Miomio.Bio, Mori, Naturapura, Noah’s Ark, Pam, Peter Jo Kids, Smomboo Farmer, The Simple Folk, Töastie, Toby Tiger, Wooly Organic.

KID’S EVOLUTION: from adult fashion to Mini me capsules

Designers and brands plan of the adult world try their hand at Mini Me capsule collection under the director of the designer and influencer Alessandro Enriquez. Among the brands involved in the project at this edition: STMA by Stefania Marra, Dear Catone, Luna Puna, Mia’s, Super Vision, Timotrunks, Akep. A complete offer for buyers and press: from knitwear to total look and accessories.

FASHION COMICS: capsule collections inspired by LINE FRIENDS are born 

An Italian project that celebrates LINE FRIENDS, the famous characters originally created as stickers for a major mobile messaging app. The initiative was conceived by Alessandro Enriquez and developed in collaboration with Wildbrain CPLG, which runs the LINE FRIENDS brand across Europe. Each designer involved will develop a capsule collection dedicated to the character Brown & Friends. The Capsule Collections will be presented to Pitti Bimbo in an area dedicated to the Top Floor of the Central Pavilion.

APARTMENT: sophisticated and exclusive collections

A refined and special “house”, curated by the architect Ilaria Marelli, “Best Italian Exhibition Design 2019”, for sartorial and sophisticated brands that will also be the protagonists of a special fashion show.
