Pitti Bimbo 86: are you ready for Florence?
Pitti Bimbo 86: the International exhibition, a reference in Kids Fashion, expands its research dimension with projects dedicated to new market segments, special events and focus on emerging talents.
540 collections, 315 from abroad (55% of the total), over 6,700 buyers and a total of 10,000 visitors during last winter edition: these are the numbers of Pitti Immagine Bimbo 86. Pitti Bimbo, the main exhibition and reference for kids fashion and lifestyle will be in Florence from January 18th to 20th.
Pitti LIVE MOVIE, the theme of Pitti Bimbo 86
The theme of cinema will tie all the winter salons of Pitti Immagine: also also Pitti Bimbo will become a kind of great Film Festival, with its different sections and its different styles narrated by large illustrated posters. The illustrators involved are Camilla Forgeri (Italy), Candela Ferdmann (Argentina), Elena Maricone (Italy), Emmanuelle (France), Gaia Stella (Italy), Mariann Maray (Hungary), Marie Mignot (France), Mayumi Oono (Japan), Paul Toussaint ( France), Violeta Lopiz (Spain), and the creative direction is of the Lifestyler Sergio Chalawadi.
Since first time I visited Pitti Bimbo, 8 editions ago, I have noticed an evolution: Pitti Bimbo has become a real platform of trends, increasingly attentive to research, to a fashion that becomes global thanks to the participations of many international brands.
Next to the classic Apartment sections, with its contemporary luxury, Ecoethic, Sport Generation, SuperStreet, are flanked by the research and experimentation of KidzFizz, the lifestyle & the pop design of Fancy Room, the selection of independent brands of The Nest.
The 86th edition of Pitti Bimbo sees the launch of a new section #ACTIVELAB. It looks much like KidszFizz for international, research and innovative character, but its footprint is street and sport. At the Cavaniglia Studio – an area expressly dedicated in Cavaniglia Pavilion – a playfully gritty layout welcomes a selection of international brands in sportswear, urban and activewear. The brands’ names: Akido, Bangbang Copenhagen Aps, Barn of monkeys, Booso, Carlijnq, Duukies Beachsocks, Gardner and the Gang, How to Kiss a Frog Stockholm, Jborn Kids, kids on the Moon, Kukukid, Loud apparel, Lucky No. 7, Oji, Tom Joule and Wheat.
Editorials, with their proposal of accessories, objects, furnishings and curiosities are focused in this edition on mountain and space.
Pitti Bimbo 86: Special projects, launches and news
Monnalisa celebrates its 50th anniversary with a unique event, “The Golden Age”: for the first time Fortezza da Basso will be illuminated by night. On the attic floor of the central Pavilion, Thursday, January 18th, from 19.30 the party with the show and moon dust.
Simonetta presents “Quanti palloncini ci vogliono per far volare un sogno?” (How many balloons does it take to make a dream fly?), a special installation at Villa Vittoria’s Lemon House, Thursday, January 18th. On the occasion of Pitti Bimbo, the license of Vespa brand will be launched.
Miss Blumarine returns to Pitti Bimbo to present new F/W collection.
Two exceptional newcomers to Pitti Bimbo 86: Colmar Originals with a space in the central pavilion and Timberland with a space within Sport Generation.
Fun & Fun presents the new collection “Easy”, a capsule dedicated to everyday life with a moment of “Dance & Music”.
Chicco, a brand always close to families at every moment of growth of their children, is back to Pitti Bimbo to present the new AW 18/19 collection from 0 to 8 years
Elisabetta Franchi La mia Bambina presents two new lines at Pitti Bimbo: Newborn (0-18 months) and Baby (6-36 months) and a mini-me line inspired by the women’s sports line Moves. Among the news, shoes line produced and distributed by Andrea Montelpare.

John Richmond presents a collection that sees the grit and the sign of the London stylist perfectly declined in the mini-sizes.
In the calendar of the Pitti bimbo shows, at the Ronda Hall on Thursday, January 18th, the fashion show of the Spanish brands Children’s fashion from Spain will be staged.
On Friday, January 19th, two special shows at the Ronda Hall will give visibility to a selection of luxury contemporary brands of Apartment and to the creativity of a selection from KidzFizz.
THE EXTRAORDINARY LIBRARY 2: Cinema and show in 100 books for children selected by Bologna children’s book Fair
After the success of first edition in January 2017, Pitti Bimbo continues the collaboration with Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which will focus on the world of cinema. On the lower floor of the central pavilion, the Extraordinary Library 2 will give space to a selection of 100 illustrated books from international publishers and dedicated to the show in all its forms: they will tell the story of cinema and theatre, the magic of ballet and opera, the marvel of acrobatic and circus arts. A collection of books to guide the gaze to discover the wonders of the world of entertainment. A project curated by Marcella Terrusi and Silvana Sola (cooperative Giannino Stopi) for Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
FASHION COMICS: a special “mini-me” capsule collection inspired by the Powerpuff Girls and designed by the young talents of Kid’s Evolution, in collaboration with Cartoon Network
In this edition, Fashion Comics, the project created by Alessandro Enriquez in collaboration with Pitti Bimbo, have as protagonists the Powerpuff Girls, from the Cartoon Network series. At the central pavilion the creations of a selection of young brands and designers – Bad Deal, Cor Sine Labe Doli, I’m Isola Marras and The Dots, also protagonists of Kid’s Evolution – inspired by these little superheroines: a series of Mini-Me capsules, composed of three garments dedicated to the mother and three for the child. “The Powerpuff Girls once again are loved by the fashion world and by designers – says Johanne Broadfield, vice president of Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA – for the importance of the social message they launch and for their aesthetics so strong . We are very happy to be a partner of Pitti Bimbo for this edition of Fashion Comics, and to be able to present the new collections for girls inspired by the mythical Powerpuff girls”.
