In a week I will take you, as always, to Florence with us for Pitti Bimbo 87: from June 21st to 23rd Florence becomes the capital of kids fashion thanks to the main international exhibition, a reference in childrens fashion. Are you ready to find out some preview?

557 collections, of which 347 from abroad, 146 between new names and indents, more than 5,300 buyers and a total of 10,000 visitors to the last summer edition: these are the numbers of Pitti Bimbo 87. Season after season, the salon has become increasingly international and has embraced the child universe really in a complete way: from brands that make research to names that belong to the world of classic childrenswear and to great Brands, who choose Pitti Bimbo to present new projects or global launches.
Well-established stylists and brands, divided in the usual sections: the sartorial vocation of Apartment, the sustainability of Ecoethic, the dynamic cut of Sport Generation, the urban soul of SuperStreet, the athletic-metropolitan dimension of the new section #ACTIVELAB, the mix between research and experimentation of KidzFIZZ, the lifestyle of Fancy Room, the incubator of small brands, but large for content, of the Nest. Alongside these sectors, which represent the categorization of Pitti Bimbo in the last seasons, there are the Editorials that tell, each time in a different way, through objects, curiosities, accessories, furnishing elements, two trends complementary to kids’ wardrobe: at Pitti Bimbo 87 they will be dedicated to Builders of Tomorrow (warning signs, reflectors, helmets, various tools are part of a language that children understand and adore and that, in the construction site of fashion and play, inspire with irony) and Jingle Jangal Jungle (a green, lush, tropical invasion in the kids world at 360 degrees).
The theme of Pitti Bimbo 87 is P.O.P. Pitti OPTICAL power: energy, movement, color. In a single word: summer! The colored lines move and play creating a dimension strongly “happy” in all the spaces of the Hall, conceived and curated by the life-Styler Sergio Colantuoni. This year a new P.O.P. Arena, a bar/relaxation area declined in optical technicolor.

As with every edition, many brands that will be protagonists with special projects, launches and returns.
For Monnalisa a Garden Party in the beautiful Torrigiani gardens that will plunge for the presentation of the SS19 collection in the mood of Fabulous Fifties.
On the occasion of Pitti Bimbo, Lorenzo Serafini launches his children’s clothing line for Philosophy, produced and distributed under the license of Gimel.
Dondup announces the return to the parent company of the kidswear line.“We are excited about the return home of the child line, a strategic project on which we foresee a major growth of the brand. We are happy to have chosen as the ideal container to introduce ourselves to the market Pitti Bimbo, the prestigious international event in kidswear”, says Matteo Marzotto, President of Dondup.
DSQUARED2 participates for the first time at Pitti Bimbo and it does great: with a prom party the brand will celebrate the five years of the child line and the birth of a new capsule collection.
Among the new names and the important new entry to this edition we will also find Alberta Ferretti, Bikkenbergs, Custo Barcelona, Daniele Abadi, GCDS and Paciotti 4Us.
At Pitti Bimbo we’ll see the launch of Urban Kids, a new magazine (4 issues per year) and the first free press dedicated to the world of children. For the occasion Urban Kids will have six distribution points within the Fortezza da Basso and 350 in the city.
One Ocean Foundation, the Italian platform for the protection of the ocean, created by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), presents its decalogue of virtuous behaviours for the preservation of the marine environment to the companies of Pitti Bimbo: the Charta Smeralda. Riccardo Bonadeo-Executive Vice president of the Foundation and Commodore of YCCS-presents the AQUA mascot, a seahorse friend for children, which testifies to the foundation’s priority attention for the new generations. Aqua will be present in a dedicated area of Pitti Bimbo to celebrate the event.

Bikkembergs Kids draws inspiration from the men collection and develops the themes and guidelines with irony and fun: central theme, football.
Petit Bateau offers a SS19 collection that focuses on nature and its protection, encouraging everyone to act in a conscious way. Without doubt one of the collections that my weakness for green will make me more curious to see.
Giorgia Stella: a new brand made in Italy for girls. We can’t wait to find out!
Miss Grant Couture declines the SS19 collection on two themes: the Fifties inspirations and the black and white contrasts. Lu’Lu ‘ by Miss Grant takes us on a trip between Dubai, London and St. Tropez. So Twee by Miss Grant offers for the spring/summer 2019 collection two themes different in shapes and colors, with a single fil rouge that accompanies all the garments of the line giving great attention to trends without forgetting comfort and dynamism.
An Urban-Tropical paradise for one of the collections that we look forward to admiring: Stella Jean Kids. And maybe we will find Stella Jean, after the co-presence in the jury at the Fashion films of the Roma Web Fest!
For next spring/summer 2019 Paul Smith Junior takes us to the Hawaii to discover paradisiacal beaches and lush vegetation.
In the next summer’s collection for Levi’s Kids will dominate the mix of styles, fabrics and prints.
3Pommes offers three different themes: Small explorer, small sailor and rock duo.
Catimini introduces many bright colors in contrast with black & white and, in full French style, says absolutely yes to the style Mariniere!
Gallucci proposes the Icon line that focuses on the must of the English styles: Slip-On, Oxford Brogue, Derby Long Wing, Penny Loafer, Double Monk-Strap and reverse or braided dancers.
The part dedicated to the Fashion style plays on variations of denim with different types of washes for sneakers, sandals and sabot. We’ll admire for sure the new texture in pied de poule white&black.
