Pitti Immagine Bimbo, the international exhibition for kids fashion, is increasingly becoming a platform for the global launch of projects related to the world of research and lifestyle .

In these 5 years of presence of this blog/magazine at Pitti Bimbo we have been able to live this evolution towards research and lifestyle with an ever wider and more global breath.

Pitti Bimbo 88: What will we find in Florence?

553 collections, of which 360 from abroad: 62% of the total number of brands present at Pitti Bimbo underlines how much the fair has become more and more international. 6,870 buyers and a total of 10,000 visitors to the latest winter edition. Within an even more precise segmentation, Pitti Bimbo is an extraordinary journey in the world of Childrenswear: Designers and brands of reference, the contemporary couture of Apartment, the sustainability of Eco-ethic, the athletic-metropolitan dimension of #Activelab, the mix between research and experimentation of Kidzfizz, the incubator for contents of The Nest, the dynamic cutting of Sport Generation and the urban soul of SuperStreet. And still, more and more important and extended within the salon, the planet of Lifestyle & design of Fancy Room, next to The editorials that explore – each time in a different way through objects, curiosities, accessories, furnishing elements – trends in complements to the kids wardrobe.

THE PITTI BOX, theme guide of Pitti Bimbo 88

THE PITTI BOX is the tribute to a common character to all the salons of Pitti Immagine: Being a Surprise box, extraordinary containers of ideas and novelties to be opened in each season, to tell the newest vibrations of fashion and lifestyle. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the experience proposed by THE PITTI BOX through the INFINITY BOX, a special video-art gallery offering an experience with a high energy-emotional value; The PARK BOX, an arena dedicated to sharing food, ideas and relaxing moments; The SHOW BOX, container for a talk program and original photo set; next to functional and entertaining boxes like the RECHARGE and the SILENCE box; and then an exhibition path through 10 great images of nature proposed by Reda with the OUT OF THE BOX.

From classic brands to super fashion and new brands, here are the names that launch special projects, have previews or come back to Pitti Bimbo: C.P. Company, Roberto Cavalli, RRD, Monnalisa, Sophia Webster, Yves Salomon enfant, Karl Lagerfeld, oilily, Vingino, Liu Jo Girl, Sprayground, Bjanko, Theophile & Patachou, Barbie, TOT and Filobio.

Among the debuts of this edition also TOT, the collection launched by Belumbury Fashion Group with whichAu197Sm, the brand-patent that has revolutionized with high-tech technologies the codes of street luxury.

Among the special events in Fortezza, two special fashion-shows signed by Pitti Immagine will give space to a selection of brands that express the world of research in the salon. In the spaces of the Ronda room will be staged, at different times within the calendar of Pitti Bimbo, some of the luxury collections of APARTMENT and a crew of brands of Kidzfizz

On the evening of January 17th, Monnalisa will present through a fashio show AW19 collection. 

Among the parades already confirmed in the fortress also those of the brands Stefania and Miss DM, and the collective of Spanish companies Children’s Fashion form Spain.

Barbie celebrates 60 years at Pitti Bimbo: a celebratory exhibition and a capsule collection with Patrizia Pepe

In 2019 Barbie celebrates 60 years and begins its celebration at Pitti Bimbo: in Polveriera a celebratory exhibition that tells 60 years lived always abreast of the times, inspiring girls from all over the world with the motto “You can be anything”. During the event will be presented also the partnership with the brand PATRIZIA PEPE for the launch of a capsule collection, which also includes a special T-shirt.

In the usual location of Lyceum, a special selection of brands that have made exclusivity their own distinction mark:  refined and original collections, between couture and strong identity, destined to high-end boutiques. The names: Amelie et Sophie, amiki sleepwear, Atelier choux Paris, Belle Chiara, Belle Enfant, Caramel, Emile et Ida, Grevi, Hucklebones, Jem + Bea, Jolee mome, Lamantine, Leoca, Maison parisienne, Little Creative Factory, Nikolia, Olive, Owa yurika, Pe’Pe’, Pèro, Small Ludo, Pom D’api, Raspberry Plum Ltd, Velveteen, Wild & Gorgeous.        



Experimenting forms and materials, with a lot of creativity: this is the soul of Kidzfizz, the concept lab of Pitti Bimbo and also one of the most popular sections, staged at the Medici Pavilion. Among the new names: Agatha and The Tempest, Bandits London, Bjanko, Eepple, Lala, Le Mu, Ledum, Me in Wien, Nupkeet 1946, Oscar et Valentine.


The boundary between technical clothing and leisurewear becomes increasingly thin, in the world of childrenswear as in adult one. #ACTIVELAB, the section that finds the starting point of this research and that starting from this edition takes place in the new spaces of Archivi, evolves with a dedicated layout. Names: ACBC, Barn of Monkeys, Carlijnq, Gardner and the gang, it’s in My Jeans, Jooseph’s, kids and the gang, Loud Apparel, Mousse Kids, Nununu, Oji, Two in a Castle, Wauw Capow by Bangbang.                  


Interesting and curious brands, selected in collaboration with Little Pop Up Berlin, store/concept lab from Berlin. Discovered with a careful and international research, they are emerging and small realities, to which Pitti Bimbo offers a special stage. Starting from this edition The Nest will be staged in a new location: Archivi. The names: Apocalypto Kids, Ari London, Coco au lait, Hannah & Tiff, the Marmottini, the Campamento, the New Society, Upa.                                    


Ecoethic interprets the tendency of ethics and sustainability, which has become a cultural and substantial necessity. On the ground floor of the central pavilion, collections that bring into their DNA the respect for environment and green education. The names: Dear Eco, Filobio, Iobio, Kidiwi Handmade, Maxomorra, Mini-La-Mode, Naturapura, Olivia Yves, Twin and Chic, Wooly Organic.

Filobio hosts at their stand a “message tree” that invites every visitor to write or exchange a green-themed thought, for a sharing of emotions related to the preservation of nature.

FASHION COMICS: Hello Kitty celebrates its 45 years 

Hello Kitty begins the celebration of its 45th birthday as the protagonist of the new edition of Fashion Comics, the project conceived by Alessandro Enriquez for Pitti Bimbo. Over the years, the little star of Sanrio has become a global icon that can touch the hearts of women and girls of all ages and also inspire designers and famous artists. On stage at the Central Pavilion, the project, created in collaboration with Sanrio, will present a selection of brands – Monnalisa, Melissa and MC2 Saint Barth – which are inspired by Hello Kitty for capsules collections dedicated to kids world.


Kid’s Evolution is another project conceived by Alessandro Enriquez exclusively for Pitti Bimbo. A section dedicated to designers who do research in the adult world and create a kids capsule with a high creative potential.

Pitti Immagine launches a program of laboratories and workshops for families: a project of edutainment in partnership with the most important museums of Florence, already very active in the field of teaching for children, with which Pitti Bimbo opens up even more to the city, with an even greater attention to the world of children and to the most educational forms of entertainment.

From Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th, a selection of museums will welcome the small visitors with a specific programme of initiatives carried out thanks to the contribution of Pitti Immagine. These are the institutions already involved: Palazzo Strozzi, Museo Marino Marini, Science and Technology Foundation, Museum of the Innocents, Uffizi Galleries and Museum of fashion and Costume.

FANCY ROOM: lifestyle from micro to macro, with an exceptional layout

In addition to kids’ wardrobe there is more: furnishing accessories, technological and old style objects, homewear, gadgets, toys and much more. Always imaginative and surprising, at this edition of Pitti Bimbo the proposal of Fancy Room expands in the number of exhibitors – from 44 to 74 brands – and doubles its spaces on the lower floor of the Central pavilion: a further proof of how lifestyle is an increasingly important factor also in the world of the children. Among the names: 3 Sprouts, A Little Lovely Company, Affenzhan, Angel Dear, Ette Tete, Franck & Fischer, Hape, Jaq jaq Bird, Jellycat, Kiddimoto, Little Unicorn, Matchstick Monkey, Moulin roty, My little Porthault, Plantoys, Play & Go, Poppik, Poupette + Paulette, Seiban.

The editorials of Pitti Bimbo 88: Magic Nights and Woody Woods, and Great Wall… of fun! 

Large walls-installation on the lower floor of the central pavilion to immerse yourself in a sophisticated search for special items. These are the editorials of Pitti Bimbo, presenting new worlds linked to kids’ lifestyle: 

* * Woody Woods _ The wood superstar, a sign of tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology. It recovers our roots and looks at design by becoming an object and furnishing, toy and cradle, in an embrace that mentions nature.

* * Magic Nights _ The Rite of good night in its various declinations, from the reassuring fairy tale to light and music. To accompany our kids to good dreams, casting away the fear of the dark.

* * The Great Wall… of fun! “

How much attention, how much delicacy is expressed in the choices for the room dedicated to a child? This is the spirit of “The Great Wall… of fun”, an editorial research curated by Maria Giulia Pieroni, stylist of the kids’ world, who has collected the tapestries from the most varied themes-from robots to the jungle, from dinosaurs to Teddy bears. Rolls of paper, capable of transforming a room and evoking an emotion, become part of the Fancy room decor.


The Extraordinary Library, in its third year, is the international bibliographic exhibition of books for children curated by Bologna Children’s Book Fair for Pitti Bimbo. This year is dedicated to the wonders of “toddler” books designed for pre-school children.

A rich and articulate reality that tells different worlds, with collections from newborn to teen and a fashionable look to the trend of Mini-me. From brands that made the tradition of Made in Italy to super fashion. Among the names: C.P. Denim, but not only. A universe that exchanges energy with sport, with activewear and that never stops. Among the brands: ADD Junior, Eleven Paris, Guess Kids, Monta Juniors, Vingino, Zoo York.
