Unisex kids outfit: Nununu
Willow is Pink’s daughter, she’s six years old and for Mtv MVA 2017 she’s wearing the same look of her mom: not a princess dress, but a masculine suit, in black. During her speech, Pink recalled a time when Willow told her, “I’m the ugliest girl I know” and “look like a boy with long hair.” Pink recalled telling her daughter
You’re beautiful. When people make fun of me they say I look like a boy or I’m too masculine or I’m too outspoken. Do you see me growing my hair? Do you see me changing my body? Do you see my selling out arenas all over the world? We don’t change. We take the gravel in the shell and make a pearl
A speech that went around the world: socials, newspapers, websites. Pink’s video with these words became viral. It moved me too.
We try to follow our philosophy of letkidsbekids, Sissi wears independent and alternative brands that enhance imagination and individuality of children and refrain as much as possible from market logic, made of logos displayed in plain view. As much as we love the quality and good manifacturing, as much as we let ourselves be seduced by luxury brand without ever overdoing it, leaving them for a special occasions, our daily life is made of brands with a well-defined philosophy: respect for the uniqueness of children and childhood, full of desires, dreams, expectations, fantasy.
Unisex kids outfit: Nununu
In my wishlist of independent brands there is Nununu: this brand comes from far away, from Tel Aviv, where Iris and Tali create garments that meet the taste and essence of children. The mood is rock: one of the first brand that exported colors like black and grey to kids’ world, accompanying them with a modern and minimalist design.
Black is promising.
So we became the brand that dressed kids in black. Black is innocent. Black is promising. much like a child, black is a blank slate, ready to be filled with ideas.
Beloved by Hollywood stars for this rock mood, over the years Nununu has become a well known and appreciated brand thanks to its identity, very recognisable. Timeless collections, which do not go out of fashion every season. They’ve seen in years color raids (like powder pink or electric blue, just in this season) and that have consolidated some prints and patterns, now become the brand’s identification (like stars and baggy pants).
There have been collaborations with other brands, including Collegien, with which they made a little collection of slippers for home in Nununu colors and prints.
We chose this electric blue sweatshirt with the number, slightly over but with a cut that wears well even a little girl, combined with super skinny jeans (Molo) and funny sneakers (Zecchino d’Oro).
