Where to eat in Paris: Lobster Bar

Bistro or Brasserie? Paris, especially in the area of the city center, has a lot of places to eat at every hour, of any origin and for any taste and pocket but… don’t you like to try something different than usual?

A stone’s throw from the Jardin du Palais Royal and at walking distance from the Louvre and Les Halles, during our Parisian stay we found a nice, informal place with great value for money.
Lobster Bar, as the name foretells, treats mainly seafood dishes (although you will also find something meat and even veg).
What is the most important dish here? Easy to guess: once again the name of the place suggests! Lobster! Is it fresh?
Well, you see them in the tub so I’d say yes, lobsters are really fresh!

The furnishing of the place brings us to the shores of the French coasts, reminds us of the sailor’s environment in Normandy and has that romantic and vintage touch.

The dishes are excellent, created with quality raw materials, and the menu allows you to choose the type of meal: a brunch, an aperitif, a light lunch or something more consistent… portions are in tapas format and you will be able to ask the quantity you want, without exaggerating and sharing with a great sense of conviviality. And if you’re still hungry… just ask one more portion!

Even children will find something for their tastes: from the meat to the fried fish fillet (Fish&Chips style), to the inevitable (and delicious) French fries.

A Lobster Bar in Paris? Some curiosity…

Lobster Bar was born in honour of Lobster Bun, the typical lobster sandwich known to the Americans, symbol of summer and picnic in open air.  Perfect for summer, it is also the latest trend of food in Paris.
Mathieu Mercier, a Swiss filmmaker, who during a trip to the United States fell in love with the famous lobster bun, decided to bring to Paris this dish all Made in USA! He created Lobster Bar, his first restaurant in Paris, which reinterprets the American lobster bun with local raw material (the lobster), directly from Normandy. In the iconic sandwich, the lobster is thin sliced and covered with a homemade tarragon mayonnaise sauce, all accompanied with French fries – and yes, this is France’s excellence that at Lobster Bar are rigorously fresh and cut by hand – and salad. All accompanied by a selection of wines, organic beers or cocktails.
