We know Paris quite well: the ville lumiere becomes our destination at least twice per year. Normally we combine business with pleasure: Playtime Paris, the exhibition of independent and creative kids fashion, joins our passion for travelling, discovering new corners and museums in the French capital, and – inevitable – making quality shopping. Often we choose international hotels: we have always enjoyed our staying… BUT this kind of hotels (and trust me because we have tried a lot of them) are always a little impersonal, always the same. You could be in Paris as in Rome, Madrid or Milan: same decor, same arrangement of rooms. Always clean, with comfortable beds, but certainly not very personal, without some special little details. Certainly not unique. And often, to reduce a little the cost of staying, we choose hotels not really very central. Comfort and cleanliness guaranteed by the recent renovation and 4 stars, this time our Paris hotel is centrally located, enabling the majority of journeys on foot. Or with a couple of metro stops or a few euro taxi ride. A few meters from the Saint-Lazare railway station, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Hotel Phileas convinced us above all for its location. The rooms – in total 39 – remind us of Phileas. We are obviously talking about Phileas Fogg, the hero of Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days: printed on the carpet you find compasses, modern furniture remembering bags and travel trunks, lamps that look like antique oil lamps. Modern technology is not lacking: a Wi-fi fast, free and running throughout the hotel, USB plug that directly receive a cable to recharge your devices, chromotherapy shower. Add to this comfortable mattress and pillows, in-room amenities such as mini bar and complimentary coffee/tea area and a comfortable desk to organize your work. Breakfast once again highlights the benefits of a small charming hotel. The breakfast zone is decorated keeping the theme of the trip, the hotel offers a selection of high quality food (not huge, but really high quality). Do not miss hot croissants and pain au chocolate, jams and pastries, fruit and yogurt and cereal, and also multigrain bread, baguettes and cheese and salami. Lately we don’t search for family hotels because Sissi is very used to traveling, staying in hotels and visiting museums. She’s old enough, so no special requirements: she organize her Trunki with toys, books and colors, and she is really ready to enjoy the trip. If you need, they can provide cot and high chair for babies, the hotel can arrange a stroller or baby-sitting on request. For older children you can request a game consoles (PS4, Xbox1). Where to stay in Paris?
This time we decided to change and we chose a little charming hotel in the center of Paris.Hotels in Paris: a charming hotel in the city center – Hotel Phileas
At 50 meters from the Metro, 400 meters from Printemps and 700 meters from Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, 700 meters from the Opera Garnier and Place de la Madeleine. In a short metro or bus ride you can reach the main tourist attractions of Paris, while for excursions outside such as Versailles or Disneyland Paris the hotel is still an excellent starting point.
The coffee is really good and the orange juice is squeezed from fresh oranges (not the usual packaged juice or distributor juice!).
And then, the breakfast time! Until 11 am: if you like to rest, if you’re on vacation, if you want to relax without running not to miss your breakfast … well, until 11 am is a perfect time!Hotel Phileas: Children are welcome
Nevertheless she’s still a little girl and then she likes to talk to the hotel staff, asking info… in short, we need personnel who are willing to speak for 5 minutes per day with a 5-year-old child! This does not always happen, but we found the Hotel Phileas courteous and helpful staff… for adults and children!
TV channels and children’s books are available.Dove soggiornare a Parigi?
